Come and ride with Ethio Cycling Holidays, and you will discover a rich local cycling culture that has existed in Ethiopia for decades.

Our team grew up in this culture. We are cyclists and many of us also come from cycling families.

Our tours are for recreational cyclists and for serious cyclists and for lots of abilities inbetween. Whatever your level and no matter how fast or slow you want to ride, our guides and drivers will give you a full level of support. If it takes your fancy, you can ride with former Olympic stars, but if you want to take things at a more leisurely pace we have the local knowledge and contacts to help you get alongside local people and explore local culture.

We want you to feel completely free when you ride – with us looking after your luggage, your refreshments and any other needs that arise as you ride.

We also offer good-quality road and mountain bikes for hire to our clients.

Above all, in bringing you to Ethiopia, we want to introduce you to Ethiopia’s cycling culture and to show you some of the amazing landscapes and famous historical sights of our region.

“From the moment we first started organising the trip, it was clear that this was a serious operation run by people who are passionate about cycling and have a deep understanding of Ethiopia itself.” Tom S

In travelling with us you will also be supporting local cyclists, since part of what you pay goes to supporting our junior development cycling team who are continuing the tradition of road cycling in Ethiopia.

In creating this team our goal is to provide more opportunities for young riders to compete in national races and to open up chances to become professional cyclists representing Ethiopia in international competitions.

30% of the profits of Ethio Cycling Holidays will go to supporting this team.

“The ECH team helped to make our holiday one of the best adventure holidays we have ever had, and this is from two older women who have had over 30 years of such holidays! A brilliant experience and a big thank you to all the Ethio Cycling team!” Jilly W

The people of Ethiopia are known for their hospitality with a deep respect for others. As a tourist you will experience this as you come across local people on the street and in the countryside. Ethiopia is also one of the safest countries in Africa with very low levels of crime and where any aggressive behaviour is looked down upon. No matter how rich or poor, Ethiopians conduct themselves with modesty and dignity which you feel as you interact with them.

We organise our tours in this same spirit, taking care of our clients from their first point of contact with us. Our overwhelming experience is that visitors to Ethiopia return home with life-changing memories of what they have seen and done, and of the people they have met on their travels.

Would you like to know more about the measures we have put in place to keep our clients safe and guard against the spread of COVID-19? We have prepared a special COVID-19 Briefing which we will be happy to send to you on request.
