Come and ride with Ethio Cycling Holidays, and you will discover a rich local cycling culture that has existed in Ethiopia for decades.

Our team grew up in this culture. We are cyclists and many of us also come from cycling families.

Our guides and drivers will take care of you, whatever your level and no matter how fast or slow you want to ride. If it takes your fancy, you can ride with former Olympic stars, but if you want to take things at a more leisurely pace we have the local knowledge and contacts to help you get alongside local people and explore local culture.

Above all, in bringing you to Ethiopia, we want to introduce you to Ethiopia’s culture of road cycling and to show you some of the amazing landscapes and famous historical sights of our region.

“Every day was different and captivating, with knowledgeable guides, lung-busting climbs with rewarding views to die for!” Martin L

In travelling with us you will also be supporting local cyclists, since part of what you pay goes to supporting a local cycling team who are continuing the tradition of road cycling in Ethiopia.

In creating this team our goal is to provide more opportunities for young riders to compete in national races and to open up chances to become professional cyclists representing Ethiopia in international competitions.

30% of the profits of Ethio Cycling Holidays will go to supporting this team.

“Ethiopia is a wonderful country with a rich culture, history and outstanding natural beauty. The quiet, good quality roads in the highlands of Tigray are a paradise for cyclists with plenty of challenging hills thrown into the bargain!” Emma W

The people of Ethiopia are known for their hospitality with a deep respect for others. As a tourist you will experience this as you come across local people on the street and in the countryside. Ethiopia is also one of the safest countries in Africa with very low levels of crime and where any aggressive behaviour is looked down upon. No matter how rich or poor, Ethiopians conduct themselves with modesty and dignity which you feel as you interact with them.

In this environment and in this same spirit we organise our tours, taking care of our clients from their first point of contact with us. Our overwhelming experience is that visitors to Ethiopia return home with life-changing memories of what they have seen and done, and of the people they have met on their travels.

Would you like to speak to other cyclists who have travelled with us? We would be happy to put you in touch with other first-time travellers to Ethiopia so that you can find out why their time with us in Ethiopia was so special.
